Opening Sparkling wines

All our Sparkling wines are naturally fermented and care does need to be taken in opening them (we don't want you to lose any of the delicious wine!).

There are two main things to consider:

1/ the bottle needs to be cold. It should be in the fridge ideally over night (not just an hour or so), and at 4 degrees maximum when opened.

2/ Once you undo the wire on the cork, it is game on! Do not let go of the cork, as once the wire is undone the cork is free to be pushed out by the pressure in the bottle. You should grip the cork tightly and ease it out gently (not pop it out). You may actually have to push against the cork a little.

Howard & Christobelle demonstrate the process in this video on our YouTube channel. The relevant part starts just after the 5min mark in the video and goes for about 3 minutes:https://youtu.be/SRm-tFdUD10
