2025 Vintage update

Vintage 2025 is well underway. We've been busy for the last couple of weeks picking and crushing our whites and rosé for sparkling, and they are now happily fermenting. The timing of the whites is about normal - we usually expect to start around Australia day, and we started on the 23rd.

In recent years we do seem to be having more vintages which are compressed, i.e they start at the normal time, but then progress faster and finish earlier. As I write this, we are about to start on our reds, and we won't be surprised if picking is finished in early March, in a very similar vein to the 2024 vintage. There'll still be fermentations to monitor, and pressing of reds to do after that, which for me as winemaker is where a lot of the work (and the magic!) is, so the next couple of months are set to be busy.

But so far, the quality of vintage 2025 is looking really good, and it will be exciting to see the grapes be nurtured into the wines they'll become.
